Perry Simmons

Sanderson's Perry Simmons (6' 5", 265 lbs) put off any suspense on his choice to play college ... Simmons chose to stay close to home and play for the Duke Blue Devils.

The Spartan senior two-way lineman chose the Blue Devils over several of schools including Navy, ECU, and Air Force. Even with his commitment, Sanderson head coach Jason Tindal expects the offers to keep pouring in and maybe top out at something close to 25 offers.

Simmons has been working hard in the weight room during the off-season and has put on close to 35 lbs since playing tight end in '07. Simmons also excels in the classroom with a 4.6 overall GPA.

Simmons is the second FNFRDU player to commit to the Blue Devils in the past month. In late June, Hillside quarterback Corey Gattis also gave his verbal to Coach Cutcliffe.
